TV

Unfortunately, a while back the cable people found out we had free cable and turned it off. Well we decided that we would try out one of those converter boxes and an antenna instead of paying the $10 a month for basic cable. Yes we are that cheep. It had been working really good. We didn't have all the shows we normally had been watching which was actually really good for us because it forced us to watch less TV. Well today Dane was trying to watch the season finally for 24. The only way he could get any signal was if he held this peace of cardboard covered in tinfoil over the rabbit ears. It was so funny but very sad. He finally gave up and is waiting till tomorrow to watch it on the internet. Hopefully when they finally do the DTV transition, the signal will get stronger.

Wow, talk about determination! The sad thing is, I can totally see Dane standing there with the piece of cardboard over the TV. LOL!

That is so sad. We use a straightened metal hanger. It balances perfectly against the mirror on the wall behind the tv.

Hey, check out Hulu. It's free, and it is only a day behind.

By the way, if you are using rabbit ears, you can get better reception by building yourself an antenna out of wire. I'm not sure what you would call the wire, and it is ugly, but if you hook it to your tv and then tack the wire to the wall at just the right angle it works really good. Lonn is the master antenna builder. You'd have to ask him for details. After he hung it up, I covered it up with a large picture, and it still worked perfect. Those were the days.....when we were young, poor and lovin' life.

I wish you could be here while the boys are gone and we could do stuff!
